Impressions of the preparation of a funfair.
October 2007 – Bocholt (Germany)
Boredom, thirst, rain. An old Ricoh KR-5 and a roll of film with 36 exposures.
Two hours of freezing and sharing small talk. Luckily, everyone at the fair was friendly — they let me photograph them without hesitation. A quiet melancholy hung over the city that day.
The wild crowd, driven by an insatiable thirst for pleasure, was already lurking behind the rain-streaked windows — and there was still so much to do.
I’m getting too poetic again.
Why did I even start taking pictures in the first place?
